J on the Beach: Celebrating seven years of sponsorship

TWS Instagram Profile 01

J on the Beach (JOTB) is an annual conference in Málaga, bringing together DevOps, developers and data scientists from Andalucía and across Europe for a highly anticipated celebration. For three days, today’s major players and innovators rub shoulders with the talent of tomorrow, sharing knowledge and driving conversations to propel our industry forward.

We’ve sponsored JOTB for seven years running, and we were proud to be Gold sponsors once again for #JOTB23. The event has become a highlight of our annual calendar, as it’s an ideal opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to the local tech community and connect with future industry gamechangers. (And the Málaga TechPark agrees!)

This year’s conference took place from 10 – 12 May at Málaga’s FYCMA congress centre. Our Workshop booth in the exhibition hall was buzzing with activity as members of our Engineering and TA teams engaged with visitors and hosted interactive activities. Check out a video recap of the event:

On the final day of the conference, our Head of Architecture, Joaquín Guillén, presented Continuous evolution: Using fitness functions to drive platform modernisation. In this keynote, Joaquin discussed what it takes for software products to keep up with the rapid pace of change in the era of continuous evolution. He discussed the modernisation of software products, evolutionary architecture, continuous evolution frameworks and much more. The talk was presented to a buzzing full house and sparked plenty of conversation after wrapping up.

In addition to our dream team, who managed event logistics and staffed our company booth, several of our Inventors attended the conference. One of these was Senior Data Analyst Marta Lahoya, who contributed a blog recap of her top takeaways from the many presentations she saw.

“The combination of hands-on workshops, presentations and exhibitor booth activities expanded my understanding of my field and sparked countless new ideas for my work. I can’t wait to go back.”

AI and data visualisation were a few of the key themes across all keynotes. You can access Marta’s full event roundup here.

All in all, this year’s JOTB was a huge success. We loved getting the chance to step outside our bustling workspace to connect with fellow Málaga TechPark residents, engage with young tech talent and gain insights an information to spark our creativity. We’re already looking forward to JOTB 2024!
